    Simon Cartmell is a 35 year the life-sciences industry veteran. He has pharmaceutical, biotech and med-tech experience gained in commercial, product development, supply chain, strategic leadership and corporate executive roles. Simon is a serial entrepreneur in early stage healthcare businesses.  As CEO of ApaTech Ltd, a QMUL spinout, he developed the company from start up to world leading orthobiologics company prior to its sale for $330m to Baxter International Inc in March 2010.

    Before joining ApaTech in 2004 Simon was a Main Board Director of FTSE 100 Celltech Group plc, serving as CEO, Celltech Pharmaceuticals, prior to which he served as COO of FTSE 250 Vanguard Medica (later Vernalis plc).  The early part of his career was spent at Glaxo/Glaxo Wellcome plc in a series of senior UK and international sales, marketing, supply chain and strategic development leadership roles. 

    He is currently part time CEO and Director of Calon Cardio-Technology Ltd, an Operating Partner at Imperial Innovations plc for whom he serves, in addition to his role as Executive Chairman of Ieso Digital Health Ltd, as the Chairman and a Non-Executive Director of Veryan Medical Ltd and Non-Executive Director of Stanmore Implants Worldwide Ltd. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Creo Medical Ltd and of ReNeuron plc. Previously he has served as Chairman of, or a Non-Executive Director on, several private and public company Boards and as a member of the Office of Life Sciences and Ministerial Medical Technology Strategy Group.

    Dan has a rich background in behavioral health.  He is a mental health counselor by training and has not only started two successful, technology-enabled healthcare service businesses, but has also led the scaling, innovation and growth of companies ranging from smaller seed-stage companies, to major Fortune 50 organisations. Dan has held senior executive level posts at OPTUM Health, Humana, Aetna, Cigna and ValueOptions (now Beacon Health Options) and has extensive experience in managed behavioral health, wellness, population health services, general healthcare and group insurance across several markets including Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Payer and Provider groups.

    Barnaby is an engineer who has specialized in the commercialization of healthcare technology.  Following a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and Economics and MSc in Biomedical Engineering, both from the University of Dundee in Scotland, he started his career in clinic-based academic research at the University of Dundee.  He then worked in small businesses developing innovative assistive technology products for people with complex disabilities.  After leading the trade sale of two health technology businesses he transferred into a Global Software Product Marketing role with GE.

    Barnaby joined Ieso Digital Health in January 2011 following publication of clinical trial data in the Lancet.  He has developed the company from its beginning as a research project, to become a proven commercial platform operating at scale in the UK National Health Service (NHS).

    As joint Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Julian has put in place the infrastructure for the company to scale and grow, looking at back office systems and processes and how the firm is organised financially and operationally to ensure maximum efficiency.

    Julian trained as a chartered accountant and has had a variety of financial and operational roles, primarily in life sciences companies.

    From 2000-2007 he was first Financial Director and latterly Chief Executive of Altrix Healthcare plc which developed a range of innovative solutions for the public sector using an oral fluid diagnostic test for detecting substance misuse. Altrix was one of the first commercial organisations to win contracts from NHS pathology labs.

    Andy gained his doctorate in psychology from the University of St Andrews before working as a medical research scientist in world-leading laboratories in the departments of psychiatry and experimental psychology at the University of Cambridge. 

    In 2006 he became Chief Scientific Officer of Cambridge Cognition, a psychology and technology-focused business, and a year later joined the company board. He was part of the team that developed the commercial strategy that built the company up to a successful public listing on the AIM market in 2013.

    At Ieso Digital Health Andy’s principle role is to develop and implement a global science and technology strategy to complement the commercial vision of the company.

    Mike McGreal is the former COO and EVP at Beacon Health Strategies, which recently merged with Value Options to create Beacon Health Options, a large managed behavioral healthcare leader in the US with 50 million members. As EVP and Chief Operating Officer for the majority of his tenure, he was responsible for business operations including operations strategy development and implementation for the company. Prior to the merger, Mike oversaw the growth from 10 employees in the first office, to 1,200 employees across 18 offices in 12 states. The company became the largest privately-held behavioral-health business, managing health benefits for 12 million members with over half a billion dollars in revenue.

    Sarah is a BABCP (British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapists) accredited cognitive behavioral therapist and supervisor and has delivered over 25,000 hours of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to people across the UK. Having worked for many years within the UK National Health Service (NHS) managing talking therapies services, she is responsible for all clinical management at Ieso Digital Health, including therapist supervision and quality monitoring. Sarah also provides clinical training at a number of leading universities.

    Guy has been working with Cambridge-based technology businesses for eighteen years, in sectors as diverse as telecommunications, automotive, life sciences and mobile banking. His wide range of skills and experience in strategy, user interface and software engineering means he is well-placed to fulfil critical roles in start-ups and fast-growing companies.

    Guy has been with Ieso Digital Health since the beginning of 2012 and rebuilt the clinical platform from the ground up. He now heads up the software development team with particular focus on architecture and automation.

    As Head of Marketing, Charlene is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and communications strategy for Ieso Digital Health, and manages the brand reputation for the global business and its innovative products.

    Charlene oversees all field marketing activities, including communications to patients and therapists, working closely with the clinical and business developments teams.

    Charlene has a keen interest in emerging technology. Prior to her time with Ieso Digital Health, she worked with a number of technology start-ups and global high-growth businesses including Protogeo Oy (acquired by Facebook) and Cambridge Intelligence. She was also a key member of the launch team for Silicon Valley Bank's UK branch, opening their UK operations in 2012. In addition, Charlene has also been involved with some of the UK’s main annual investor events, showcasing some of the industry's most exciting private companies from within Europe.

    She is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, with Chartered Marketer status, and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Wales, Swansea.

    Christophe joined Ieso at its early beginning in November 2011 as Product Manager. Since joining, he has been part of the core management team leading and implementing the company vision and strategy. In his role, Christophe leads the technology platform development, heads the implementation of the company information governance and oversees the service delivery operations globally.

    Prior to Ieso, Christophe worked for General Electric for 10 years as a Project Manager and Business Analyst, leading the product development of GE’s Geographical Information System platform for oil and gas companies. Christophe has Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Statistics and Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

    Clive is a passionate advocate for the competitive advantage that can be realised by using digital technology to transform the delivery of healthcare.

    Over recent years he has both advised and invested in a number of businesses, including Imperative Health (sold to AXA), NW London NHS Trust, College of Contemporary Health, Bupa, AmericanWell, Healthwise and Healthbox. He is also involved in social enterprise projects in East Africa, which gives him a unique perspective on private and public healthcare eco-systems around the world.

    Clive has previously been Managing Director of vielife, which he developed and sold to Cigna, Managing Partner at KPMG’s ‘Digital Business’ practice and Client Partner at Viant, which was recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the ‘Best Managed Hi-Tech Companies’ in 1999. His work has also been recognised internationally by Time Magazine and the American Broadcasting Company and has contributed to two best-selling books on the digital economy.

    Stephanie joined Ieso Digital Health in 2012, after obtaining a First Class Honours degree in Economics and Social Studies from the University of Manchester. She works with both the US and UK Ieso teams to strategize and implement specialist projects.

    Sheeba always knew she wanted to work in healthcare and promote social justice, which lead her to obtain a BA in Biology & Society from Cornell University. While the Biology & Society major may seem a bit unusual, it was perfect; because, it allowed her to explore the intersection between science and social concerns, and better understand the complex relations between biological and sociocultural forces. From there she earned a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health.

    She has committed her career to public service through her work to increase access to healthcare, for those that have historically been marginalized and considered vulnerable. In the Medicaid system, she has managed and implemented a program for evidenced-based, person-centered policy design, written administrative rules to clarify Medicaid benefits, and designed and implemented new Medicaid benefits. Additionally, she understands the impact of multiple funding streams, effects of psycho-social issues on health, and strength of coalition building and stakeholder engagement. Most recently, she worked with Medicaid providers to design and test models of behavioral health integration within the pediatric primary care setting. She is dedicated to achieving long lasting change through inclusive development and accountable governance.

    Ann has held non-executive director positions at several companies, including two AIM-listed companies, Plethora Solutions and Curidium, and chaired the board at Ionix, Therasci and Celentyx. She has co-founded three companies, Ionix, Therasci and Theradeas. She has also sat on several scientific advisory boards, including Bionomics, CeNes and Lectus. She consults, either regularly or on an ad hoc basis, for companies and venture capitalists.

    Ann did a Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the School of Pharmacy in London. After her Ph.D. she joined Glaxo where she worked for 22 years, in drug discovery in the areas of CNS and pain. She held the positions of Therapeutic Director for CNS Diseases in Drug Discovery and then Director of Drug Discovery, responsible for the Drug Discovery portfolios for the UK and France. Ann left GSK in 2001 and set up as an independent pharmaceutical consultant.

    Jonathan is a Chartered Accountant by qualification and now an experienced serial businessman having held CFO, COO and CEO in multiple organizations 

    Jonathan is a Director of JVP Consultants Ltd, a consultancy that offers management consultancy NXD and Chairman roles.

    In the recent past he was CEO of Datanomic, a data quality and AML software vendor which underwent meteoric growth before it was successfully acquired by Oracle in 2011 at which point he served as Vice President of Data Quality Strategy for Oracle

    Jonathan was previously Senior Finance Director at Convergys Corporation a telco billing and rating software vendor, where he had overall financial responsibility for its billing software and services business. Prior to Convergys he was Financial Controller and then Finance Director of Geneva Technology, a Cambridge UK based billing software company. During his period at Geneva he helped grow the business into a $50m revenue and 450 people company prior to the acquisition by Convergys in 2001 for $692m.  Jonathan has also held senior finance positions within Thomas Cook Retail and Semitool Inc.

    Jonathan currently sits on the Boards of Eyeka, Centralis, Ieso Digital Health, MakePositive, My Community and Cloudfind as well as being an advisor to VC DN Capital and a Co-Founder of Angel Investment group Thorium Technology Investors

    Dr. Pell has a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from University of East Anglia and a B.Sc. in Zoology at the University of Wales, Bangor.

    Inga is in the Healthcare Ventures team at Imperial Innovations, a public venture capital and technology commercialisation company. She specialises in investments across medical devices, therapeutics, diagnostics, and has a special interest in digital health. She is currently a Director at Ieso Digital Health and Puridify and a board observer at Veryan Medical. Previously she worked in business development and technology transfer at the London Bioscience Innovation Centre/Royal Veterinary College in London, commercializing research, sourcing and building industry collaborations. She completed a DPhil and MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Oxford, sponsored by the Wellcome Trust, developing translational models of psychiatric disease using a range of molecular biology, genetics, electrophysiology, imaging and behavioural techniques. Her first degree was Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.

    Andy has a track record in creating and scaling up innovative healthcare and life-science companies. He is  currently Chairman of Arecor, Congenica, Abcodia and is a Director of Silence Therapeutics plc, Cancer Research Technology (commercial arm of CR-UK), Cambridge Temperature Concepts, Babraham Bioscience Technologies and Cambridge University Hospitals Trust (Addenboookes).

    His early career spanned positions with ICI (now AstraZeneca) and PA Technology, and he was a founder and executive director of Chiroscience. Since 1999 he has founded, invested in and scaled mainly Cambridge-based healthcare companies, with more than 20 innovative ventures over the last 16 years. These include companies such as Vectura, Arakis, Cambridge Biotechnology Ltd and Geneservice.

    Andy is also a founder member of the Cambridge Angels and an advisor to Cambridge Innovation Capital.

    Lennart is Investment Director at ANANDA Social Venture Fund, responsible for their UK operations and London office. Lennart joined the board of Ieso Digital Health in 2015. 

    For more than 20 years, Lennart has been well-established in the financial sector, working in New York, London and Hong Kong. He began his career at JP Morgan in investment banking, before moving on to derivative trading and structuring. After that he founded his own company, driven by his passion for turnaround situations and complex project-financing, and his desire to develop innovative solutions for seed and startup funding. His strong interest in early stage companies also took him to a role as an investment manager at the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs – UnLtd. Lennart has a degree in Finance from Loughborough University and is a graduate of the JP Morgan Finance Program.
